Classic car owners are being invited to nominate their car for the title of Classic Car of the Year 2012.

The competition - organised by Classic Car Weekly, Classic Cars and Practical Classics magazines - is open to all vehicles made before 1990 and the winning cars will go on display at the Classic Motor Show at the Birmingham NEC from 16th to 18th November.

The winner will receive a year's free comprehensive insurance up to a value of £300 from Lancaster Insurance and tickets to the Classic Motor Show with accommodation included.

The organisers stress that the competition is open to all cars and that the final decision will be made on the story behind the car, rather than just the car itself.

If you've got an old classic that you think is in with a shout of winning the title, you can enter via the Classic Car of the Year website at www.ccoty.co.uk. The closing date for entries is 3rd August 2012.
