Caterham is to produce a run of 25 Team Lotus Special Edition Sevens.

The team Lotus upgrade package costs £3,000 and can be applied to any Caterham model. The special editions are painted in Lotus livery and feature a plaque carrying the signatures of Team Lotus F1 drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli. Buyers will also receive a book on the history of the Seven and an invitation to a tour of the Team Lotus F1 factory in Norfolk.

MD of Caterham, Ansar Ali said, "Caterham Cars is starting an exciting and hugely important chapter, so it’s entirely fitting that we celebrate our opportunity to take Colin Chapman’s ‘less is more’ philosophy global, with this special car."

The cheapest Seven, the Caterham classic, is priced at £13,650, or £16,650 with the Team Lotus upgrade package.
