The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio has been flexing its competitive muscles by setting SUV record lap times at three of the UK’s top racing circuits.

An unmodified, production model Stelvio Quadrifoglio, in the hands of professional racer David Brise, set the benchmark for its rivals by lapping the Brands Hatch indy circuit in 55.9 seconds, Donington Park in 1 minute 21.1 seconds, and the Silverstone Grand Prix track in 2 minutes 31.6 seconds.  Brise prised optimum performance from the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s 510bhp 2.9-litre V6 Twin-Turbo engine.  The premium SUV also boasts 50/50 weight distribution, carbon fibre driveshaft, and Q4 all-wheel-drive.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio has previous when it comes to record-breaking lap times.  Two years ago it became the fastest production SUV to tackle the legendary Nurburgring, slashing a full eight seconds off the lap record by completing a circuit of the 12.9-mile ‘Green Hell’ in just 7 minutes 51.7 seconds.

The Quadrifoglio is the range-topping Alfa Romeo Stelvio model, and is priced from £69,510 on-the-road.
