The revised Mazda2 is now available to order.
Powered by the 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine, the five-model Mazda2 line up also includes mild-hybrid technology for the first time.
External changes include a new mesh pattern grille as found on the all-new Mazda3 hatchback, wider wings, revised headlights, and redesigned rear bumper. Inside are changes to the dashboard trims, air vent louvres, door inserts and the instrument hood. New, more supportive front seats have been added, while a programme of improved sound-proofing features results in a more serene experience.
Updates to the steering and rear dampers aid handling, while the latest version of G-Vectoring Control Plus is now standard and uses the brakes to apply direct yaw movement control in addition to the previous system’s engine control.
The Mazda M Hybrid version uses a belt-integrated start generator and brake regeneration to reduce engine load and emissions, with CO2 output of around 95g/km.
Entry-level SE-L trim is priced from £15,795, and includes rear parking sensors, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, climate control and cruise control. SE-L Nav, Sport Nav and GT Sport Nav models gain Mazda Connect navigation with a seven-inch colour touch-screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Front Smart City Brake Support, and Lane-keep Assist. Sport Nav versions and higher get 16-inch alloy wheels, gloss black grille treatment, rear privacy glass, shark-fin antenna, chrome exhaust trim, and smart keyless entry, while range-topping GT Sport Nav models boast a reversing camera, leather seats, colour head-up display, plus heated front seats and steering wheel.
